Eye See Good Prices . . .

Max Mara Specs2

Costco is a suburban staple. I’d wager to say it’s a suburban ICON. But even if you’re not in the market for a box of 60 popsicles or a 5 pound package of ground beef, you can swing buy the Optical Department at your nearest Costco for some fabulous new eyeglasses. I don’t know how many times I’ve passed by this seemingly ‘blah’ part of the store without giving it a second glance. BIG mistake. Thankfully, I recently took the time to check it out. It was a nice distraction while my family tested one of the many 60 inch 3D televisions (for the 85th time). I was floored by the wide selection of unique designer frames – Pucci, DVF, Kenneth Cole and Max Mara to name a few!

So, today I am writing while wearing my stylish, yet inexpensive new Max Mara glasses. The whole package; frames, lenses, anti-glare stuff , etc., etc. . . cost less than the frames alone at my Optometrist’s office – ¬†Sorry Doc. I’m also going to reluctantly tell you that the bill for my specs was a whole lot less than my typical grocery total at the Costco check-out ¬†(I dare any of you to get out of there with a bill totaling less than 3-figures).

Next time you need a new pair of frames or maybe you’re just tired of your old ones, grab your membership card and hit the nearest Costco. I promise you will find something unique for your peepers that won’t break the bank . . .and they will be much easier to unload from your car than a ginormous package of toilet paper.

When is it appropriate to stuff something in your nose at a wedding reception?

Dear Auntie Paulette- If that’s the kind of accessory you’re into wearing, I’m sure that anything you shoved up your nose would look fabulous – as long as it matched your reception ensemble. Have fun!
