Itchy, Scratchy, Red & Patchy. It’s Not a Scary Movie, It’s Eczema.

Eucerin Eczema Relief

Eczema. Say it how you want; Ex-zee-muh. Ex-em-uh. Either way, it sucks. I grew up battling giant red scabs that plagued my arms and the area behind my knees. I remember my only option was applying a goopy, stinky, ointment prescribed by Dr. Potter to help alleviate this ugly and uncomfortable skin condition. This regime was followed by a few minutes lying under a mom-made sunlamp.

Can you say, “Medival?” Good news is, things have gotten way better since the late 70’s and as always, Eucerin has relief for the modern-day Eczema victim.

Did you know that over 35 million Americans suffer from atopic dermatitis (Eczema)? Chances are you, or someone you love, has suffered from this itchy condition, too. In fact, Eucerin has heard countless stories from people (including children) who suffer from the eczema, detailing day-to-day life challenges, discomfort and even lifestyle changes.

I have minimal comfort from the intense itching, when my eczema flares up. OTC hydrocortisone does not work, but ice packs, running cold water over the affected area, helps a lot to alleviate the itching. For the dry scaly patches that occur, I use plain Vaseline, most of the time, because it does not cause more itching and burning, like many OTC creams for eczema do. I have never tried Eucerin’s products for eczema, though, and would love to give them a try 🙂

My younger daughter had eczema and it is horrible. We tried really expensive steroids for a long time. But her itch on joints wouldn’t just go away. After using cortisone for a little while, we switched to Eucerin body crème. That got her relief to a great degree. Her day care, mom’s handbag, her desk at school and best friend, all carry one bottle all the time.

OTC hydrocortisone works great for me, although I wish I could find a more natural solution! Products formuated for sensitive skin, like Eucerin, help keep the bumps at bay.

My eczema gets bad when I wear tight, suffocating clothing. So now I make sure my clothes fit loosely or comfortably and don’t make me sweat or itch!

Eczema causes scar tissue to form on places where you scratch. It’s awful! I’m in my twenties and still trying to get rid of childhood scars. Eucerin rocks!

Like one poster above, I too have eczema on my hands. I have to be very careful not to wash them too much or they get rashy and inflamed. At my old job, I had to wash my hands alot and expose them to a sanitizing solution that just wreaked total havoc on my hands!

I have eczema on my face (diagnosed 2 years ago) and I used Eucerin body wash as well as a steroid cream and lots of Eurercin moisterizer. I occasionally have minor flare ups, but nothing as bad compared to when I was first diagnosed. Now when I have a flare up I use my Eurercin moisterizer.

I inherited eczema from my dad. We both have pretty dry, sensitive skin. But products like Dove sensitive skin body wash and Eucerin help me maintain my skin 🙂

I get eczema on my back where my bra strap rubs sometimes. It is intensely annoying and I have to try my best to reach it with lotion, otherwise have my husband do it. If left untreated, it balloons into red, angry, itchy welts that look like hives. I would love some Eucerin to combat the problem! Thanks 🙂

My eczema was the worst when I was a kid, but when it gets really hot or really dry, I get flare ups from time to time.

Growing up my mom used Eucerin both on her and for me to help soothe my sensitive skin. I was fortunate that my time in the military my doctor actually prescribed me Eucerin so I was able to keep my skin, mainly hands feeling so much better. I’d love to win any Eucerin product! Thanks for the opportunity!

Eucerin moisturizers are formulated to keep the skin from getting too dry, which can cause eczema exacerbation. I would know because I have dry skin…with eczema and acne too! My skin is so sensitive; it seems that whatever I use to treat my eczema causes acne, and when I try to treat the acne, it irritates my eczema! Oh, the woes of sensitive skin…

In the wintertime, my skin gets dry and I have to keep it moisturized. In the summer, I don’t really have a problem with dryness, but I usually still experience eczema because of sweating. It irritates my skin and causes rashes. I keep OTC hydrocortisone on hand for a quick fix!

When I have a flareup of eczema, I take a bath or shower with body wash specially formulated for sensitive skin, then I put on a sensitive skin moisturizer without fragrances or dyes. Sometimes I have to use hydrocortisone cream to keep the itching at bay.
